EN / Hanne Larsen (b. 1985, Trondheim, Norway)
Hanne Larsen is a lens-based artist working with photography, video and installation. After several years in Finland, where she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in photographic art, she has developed a practice centered on the construction of temporary situations and spatial constellations.
Larsen often works with materials that change, melt or erode – such as ice, clay and rock – creating fragile environments that shift with weather, time and physical presence. These settings function as sites for observing how perception, memory and the body respond to instability and transformation.
Her projects tend to unfold over longer periods, allowing coincidence, landscape and material behaviour to shape the final work. Underlying much of her practice is an interest in the fundamental nature of “being”: a quiet, philosophical exploration of presence, vulnerability and the conditions that shape human experience.

Hanne Larsen er en billedkunstner som arbeider med fotografi, video og installasjon. Etter flere år i Finland, hvor hun fullførte både bachelor- og mastergrad i fotografisk kunst, har hun utviklet en praksis som kretser rundt iscenesatte situasjoner og midlertidige romlige konstellasjoner.
Hun arbeider ofte med materialer som endrer seg – som is, leire og stein – og skaper skjøre landskap som påvirkes av tid, vær og fysisk tilstedeværelse. Arbeidene undersøker hvordan sanser, kropp og minne responderer på ustabile og foranderlige omgivelser.
Prosjektene utvikles gjerne over lengre tid, der tilfeldigheter og materialenes egne prosesser får forme resultatet. Et gjennomgående motiv i praksisen er en grunnleggende utforskning av væren, tilstedeværelse og menneskets sårbarhet i møte med natur og rom.
